The Alamance Bariatric Surgery Group was founded in late 2004 by a group of people who were in the process of having weight loss surgery or who were post-op.
-
We pick a place to meet at such as a restaurant,  bowling  alley or the Gym.
-
We talk about any and all issues that can occur during the time before and after weightloss surgery.
-
One argument I get from people who are not in the group is     " Why would a bunch of weight loss surgery paitents want to meet in a restaurant.   If you are trying to lose weight that is not the place to be" .
- How wrong they are.   After having this surgery food becomes tricky.   Sometimes a person will have a reaction to something that can be very embarrasing such as throwing up or diarreha.
- Since each of us know exactly what the other is going through we can lend a shoulder to cry on.
- Another important reason is that this is a way for us to re-learn how to eat in a public restaurant.   It is a lot harder than you think to re-train yourself how to eat again.
